For this production, we reconfigured our proscenium stage space into a thrust theatre with a curved cyclorama upstage, which was actually the theatre's backstage right wing. We were able to seat 80 people on the raised seating platforms comfortably, with the ability to add 8 more seats if necessary. To create the seating platforms we built 20 stock, triscuit style platforms. These platforms are labor intensive to produce and must be installed in a specific way, but they are fast to install and quite effective. Hanging the cyclorama and masking curtains involved rigging to theatre architecture which is difficult to reach safely. The Practicum students received a comprehensive lesson in rigging safety and the use of fall-arrest equipment during the completion of this project.
